Finding Voice Through Words

This program is an introductory course to a specific sub-genre of creative non-fiction writing, which focuses on factual, personal experiences and narratives whilst using literary tools and techniques. Through lectures, interactive discussions, mind-mapping, and writing exercises, the course lays down the foundations and elements of creative nonfiction writing, the distinct practice of memoir composition, its main difference from autobiography and journal writing, and the basic techniques that can help students brainstorm and initiate their own memoir writing projects.
